I have a habit of seeing a string of vacation days coming up on the calendar, and instead of slowing down to meet them, I speed up to get as much done as humanly possible before the break. On the one hand, it means I come back to a short and tidy to-do list and can ease back into my work life. On the other, it means I'm halfway through my vacation before I've decompressed enough to enjoy it.
The weeks leading up to this Thanksgiving break have been no exception. I'm excited by the creative and complex work I've been doing. And my mind is consumed by it.
So today, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, instead of fixating on my to-do list on my final day in the office, I'm going to think about what I'm grateful for.
I wish you a beautiful, restful Thanksgiving holiday!
